If you’re new here, welcome! Please check to see if your question is answered below.

  • While Lagree and Pilates share some similarities—like a focus on core strength, control, and low-impact movement—they're two distinct methods. Lagree is performed on the Megaformer, which allows for continuous tension and resistance throughout each movement, combining strength training, endurance, cardio, balance, and flexibility into one efficient workout.

The movements in Lagree are slower, controlled, and highly targeted, designed to engage muscles to the point of fatigue (hello, shakes!). It’s a different approach with a different purpose—both Pilates and Lagree have their strengths, and it really comes down to what kind of challenge you're looking for.

  • Lagree is for everybody and all fitness levels, which means you're welcome to join in a group class whenever you're ready to sign up. If you have questions or concerns, reach out prior to booking any time. If you have an injury you're currently managing, or want to first assess your fitness level, we also offer private classes.

  • The Megaformer (aka the MEGA) is a specialised piece of equipment, designed specifically for the Lagree method.

It's designed to facilitate high-intensity, low-impact workouts that target strength, endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. It is the centrepiece of the Lagree Fitness Method.

Some of the key Features of the Megaformer:

    1. Sliding Carriage:
The Megaformer has a moving platform (the carriage) that glides along tracks. Users perform exercises by pushing or pulling against the resistance created by the springs attached to the carriage.

    2. Adjustable Resistance:
The resistance can be modified using a series of springs, allowing users to customize the intensity of their workout to their fitness level.

    3. Handles, Straps, and Platforms:
Various attachments provide options for different exercises, targeting muscles from various angles.

    4. Low-Impact Design:
Unlike traditional gym equipment, the Megaformer is designed to be gentle on the joints while still delivering a challenging workout.

  • In your Lagree class, expect a mix of strength training and cardio, all on the Megaformer. You'll experience a high intensity, full body workout focusing on core strength, flexibility, mobility and endurance. The class is 45 minutes of non-stop movement, with a supportive community cheering you on! Be ready to challenge yourself and have fun!

    • Focus on form rather than speed.

    • Listen carefully to the verbal cues from the instructor.

    • Modify where needed and focus on building your strength - modifications are safe and effective, and allow you to continually get stronger using the correct form and muscle groups.

    • Listen to your body and take rest when needed.

    • Engage with your instructors, ask for feedback and assistance any time you need (we love a chat!).

  • We are located at 16 Masters Street on the ground floor, next to Masters Street Coffee (look for the window signage). Parking can be busy on Masters Street and the surrounding areas. We suggest arriving early and parking at Gasworks (it's under a 5 minute walk to the studio). Alternatively, check out our location in Google Maps.

  • If it's your first Lagree class, it's important you arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled class time so the instructor can give you a thorough run through of the Megaformer, the Lagree method and get to know you.

If you’re new (have never done lagree before), it’s really important you arrive on time, so our instructors can give you a proper induction. If you do not arrive on time, unfortunately you won’t be able to join class and your class pass will be forfeited.

If you're a seasoned Lagree cutie, arriving 5 minutes before class starts (or earlier) is perfect.

    • Socks - preferably grip socks (we sell these in the studio and will make the workout feel more safe and effective). Socks are mandatory and required for the Lagree workout. No socks, no play babe.

    • Water bottle.

    • Your favourite activewear that is comfortable and easy to move in. Ideally nothing too baggy as you don't want this getting in the way of your workout (as you're working off the Megaformer)

    • A towel isn't necessary, however you're welcome to have one with you at your machine if needed.

  • If you're unable to make a Lagree class you've booked into, please ensure you cancel at least 3 hours prior so we can give your spot to another member (3 hours is our cancellation window).

If you cancel more than 3 hours before the class start time, this is an Early Cancellation and you'll get your class pass back, and will have the ability to rebook.

If you cancel inside our 3 hour cancellation window, this is considered a Late Cancel. In this instance, you'll lose your class pass and won't be able to rebook.

If you don't show to your scheduled class, and also don't cancel, this is considered a No Show and will incur a $15 No Show Fee.

  • Super simple! We have a 3 hour cancellation window which means if you're on the waitlist and someone cancels +3 hours or more before the class start time, you will be automatically added from the waitlist. This is why it's super important that you keep an eye on classes you've waitlisted for, and refrain from adding yourself to multiple waitlists. If you've been added from a waitlist into a class, and are on another waitlist, please ensure you cancel the other class(es) you are on the waitlist for, to ensure fairness for all other members.
